While we waited for the show to start we entertained ourselves....

Show

The acrobats of China was really great. Very impressive. It was a two hour show and they did all kinds of stunts and contortionist acts. A lot of young kids performing. One was just a year older than Brianna.

Fun in the Sun

So, we went down to the beach again today. We spent about 4 hours in the water just hanging out and enjoying the water. I, of course, got burned again while Brianna just got a fabulous tan....just call me Big Red. But it was a lot of fun and the weather was great. We're gonna try to hit the beach again tomorrow afternoon after our second atempt to visit Silver Dollar City.

Moonshine Beach

We got to the hotel a little early, so we decided to kill some time at the beach until we could check in. There is a really cool beach 15 minutes from the resort we are staying at. There is a big roped off swimming area with a gradual slope. The weather tired out great today. It's about 87, sunny and
beautiful. The water isn't even cold. Though, it's a litle windy and our beach umbrella decided to take a little trip without us. Luckily it didn't decapitate anyone as it flew out of the sand. Aside from that......perfect day at the beach.

Scenic overview

We checked out the scenic overview this morning at the end of the strip. Tons of people had signed it when they visited. So, Brianna decided to brand the pavilion too.

SLIMED

we went to the animal safari and took our car. it was fun and freaky and slimy. this is what happened: we drove into the first part and there were these weird looking emu's that kept pecking our windshield. of course i role the window down and the thing sticks its head in. i tried to give it a treat thing and it snaps at me, freaks me out and takes it out of my hand. we didn't feed those anymore. later on these donkey/zebra things came up to the car and were at like every window! one stuck its snout in the car and opened its mouth up expecting us to through food in. another one that i was feeding opened its mouth and wrapped its tounge around my hand! soooo gross i got slimed! the rest of the day was just full on weird. but all of our days usually are. gonna leave for branson at 8 in the morning. i'll post more that afternoon.

Cave Fun

So, we checked out Fantastic Caverns today and it was, well.....Fantastic! It's just outside of town in Springfield and you ride a tram through the whole cave. It has some really cool formations and a great history. They tell you a little bit about the history as you go through the cave. It actually used to be an underground bar during the prohibition. Kinda cool. There is a little video they show you in the cave about half way through and its kinda fun to ride in a wagon through the whole thing, but it made it a little hard to take pictures. But we still got a few good ones. I think we may try to go through one of the walk through caves in Branson. But all in all it was totally worth the trip and a cool sight to see.

Branson....Why Not

Never did i think the words "I'm off to Branson" would escape my mouth, but when i went looking for a vacation destination close to home that i could spend the week with my niece....It seemed like the obvious choice. I was looking for something inexpensive and close by with a lot of options for activities. Branson certainly fits the bill. I've always thought it was a very "country" place to visit. I didn't think much of it would appeal to me, being the city girl and all. I've always gone to Vegas and Florida and other destinations for vacations, so I didn't know what to expect from Branson. However, I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised at the variety of activities and types of shows available. We are heading out in a few days, so I am anxious to see what adventures await us.
